During the right season, raspberries are delicious in smoothies

Premenstrual syndrome smoothie

It turns out that avocados and hemp seeds can help to eliminate some premenstrual syndromes.
Indeed, they have a high amount of magnesium (especially dried fruits, which is why we added almond milk in the recipe :) ) and of vitamin E (magic recipe to reduce stress and tiredness). Regarding the banana, it's one of the vitamin B6 queens, it will have an effect on your mental health which means it will improve your mood, which can be charged sometimes during this period.

Avocado, spinach, banana smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 large handles of spinachsome almond milk
  • 1 banana

Instructions

Peel and cut into pieces the fruits.
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend them.
Serve chilled and add on the top of your smoothie hemp seeds.

Smoothie against pains

Vitamin C is the best of the best: it has a straight effect on the prostaglandins (the substances that hurt us and inflame our organs during our period). We imagined especially for you a smoothie that can help you to ease your pains. Note that it's important to always use fresh fruits and leafy vegetables because vitamin C is concentrated in these products.

Finally, the icing on the cake: nature knows best. Vitamin C allows our organism to absorb much more iron. Iron is the most fragile thing when we have our period because it goes with the blood we loose. Therefore, vitamin C helps to reduce a risk of anaemia. Drinking this delicious smoothie during your menstrual cycle will put you in a good mood.

Strawberry, banana and lemon smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/3 of sweet strawberries
  • 1/3 of orange juice
  • 1/3 of grapefruit juice
  • the juice of a lemon

Peel and cut the fruits into pieces.
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend them.

Add the juices of the oranges and the grapefruits gradually when you're blending.
Serve chilled and enjoy!

Smoothie to comfort yourself during your period

Why do we often feel like eating sweet things during our period? Your body is talking to you! Even if you can eat chocolate (preferably black because it contains more magnesium and less calcium), this is not a reason to clear the bar.

In order to avoid this, here comes a list of fruits and vegetables, high in sugar and vitamin C, now it's your turn to try according of your mood reflecting the seasons:

  • citrus fruits and red berries: orange, strawberry, raspberries (they contain between 7 and 10% of carbohydrates)
  • stone fruits and pome fruits: pears, plums, apricots (between 10 and 15%)
  • grapes, cherries, bananas when they are very ripe contain more carbohydrates (between 15 and 20%).

Raspberries and cinnamon smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1.322 lb of frozen raspberries
  • 2 plain yoghurts
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon cyrup
  • 1 pinch of powdered cinnamon
  • the juice of a lime

Instructions

Either you use frozen raspberries or you keep your smoothie a few hours in the fridge before enjoying it.
Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend them.
Add the sirup and the pinch of cinnamon at the end and blend.
Serve in glasses and enjoy!

As a bonus, here are folk remedies

Brighten up your smoothies according to your mood, add seeds, make them in a more or less liquid state, add some almond milk or some glasses of mineral water... The aim is to try out with the basis we gave you.

But if we could give you a last piece of advice to ease your menstrual pains...

  • Enjoy the benefits of the sage leaves: this is an extra-strong remedy against migraines, it appeases and has qualities that help to calm our nervous system. This is the plant for menstruating people.
  • Put some pieces of ginger: they will heat your body, give you some energy (perfect in the morning) and relax your muscles (which means you will have less cramps)
  • Add basil leaves in your smoothies: basil avoids abdominal spasms
  • Add cinnamon, which has anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties.
